1. Executive Summary
We are a new organisation that believes mass participation in government programs will help speed up the social transformation of the communities helping and supporting ethnic community-based financial Freedom project (God’s Money & Me) and Ethnic community culture (God’s Plan to Connect the Dots) “God’s Money & Me” by educational based programs, Free Financial Mentorship, Christian Budgeting, Counselling Services, Budgeting & Advocacy, family support, project, targeting ethnic minority groups. We are appreciative of the efforts and the strides our government has made towards addressing every challenge our communities are facing on a daily basis. Therefore, our organisation is extending its hand that simply says we are willing and ready to participate in the following.
- Helping the Non-Speaking English elderly people.
- To Promote culture and culturally based activities.
- Paying attention to the destitute within our communities.
- Promoting chronic diseases, Coronavirus Awareness.
- Providing support to needy all communities.
- Promote sports in the communities.
- Creation of healthy environment.
- Establishment or arrange of a once-a-month cultural day meeting point.
- Counselling Services (Children, Youth, and Adults).
- Financial Educational based programs (Budgeting & Advocacy, family support by Workshop and Mentorship)
Our organisation is prepared to run with the implementation of the above projects as soon as it gets the relevant resources. Hence, we submit this proposal requesting the funds to put our plan in action.
2. Organizational Overview
Because of their language problems, the lack of awareness of the availability of service, differences in cultural, behavioural, and living style norms as well as beliefs in financial Freedom “Debt Freedom” (God’s Money & Me) and Ethnic community culture (God’s Plan to Connect the Dots), it is commonly believed that ethnic minority populations, in general, are more prone to financial Freedom (God’s Money & Me) and Ethnic community culture (God’s Plan to Connect the Dots) problems and difficulties in access to financial Freedom (God’s Money & Me) and Ethnic community culture (God’s Plan to Connect the Dots) information. These problems are well demonstrated in many overseas experiences and studies.
Our organisation is a non-government and non-profit organisation that was founded in 2007 from Pakistan and since 2019 established incredibly contributing to communities New Zealand wide.
We also facilitated a successful financial freedom campaign with a slogan ‘Coming Alongside to Restore and Empower’ with an intention of eliminating the stigmatisation. Both these initiatives collapsed because of unavailability of transport to attend to their fixture and volunteers left for paying projects. All this was as a result of unavailability of funds.
Consequently, this organisation remained dormant since then until September 2019. The purpose of this organisation is to bridge a gap between the ethnic community and the government by creating a platform for everyone to be able to raise their concerns, challenges and most importantly for the organisation to provide guidance to those in need of such. We also intend to advocate government programs for the development of ethnic community members. Educate communities about such programs and help them implement the knowledge they have gathered. Encourage the ethnic community to initiate their own programs which are related to those of the government.
As an organisation we are volunteering our time and energy towards the needy communities who cannot do things for themselves because of disabilities, ill health, or any other reasons beyond their control. We intend taking our services to the doorsteps or our communities whenever they need it and offer them the necessary information for their wellbeing.
Currently, we are keeping well track record on our name as we are operating all along, but this is our first proposal for a funding request.

3.4 Duties and Responsibilities of Management
- See to it that all activities are delivered according to the plan and that they are in compliance with the organisation’s constitution.
- Ensure that there is an adherence to the scheduled meetings.
- Monitor all daily activities of the organisation.
- Make a follow up on all the programs and projects of the organisation.
- Keep the minutes and records of the organisation safe.
- Manage the finances and assets/equipment’s of the organisation.
- Ensure that books and financial records are annually audited by an independent institution and ensure that those audited statements are presented to the Annual General Meeting of the organisation as the constitution requires.
- Continue sourcing funds from potential funders in order to successfully implement all programs and projects of the organisation.
4. Staff Compliment
- Management team will be permanent employees of the organization.
- Two general workers will be appointed to assist management with its duties.
- Temporary employees will be appointed as and when the need arise and the number thereof, will be informed by the size of the project.
- Volunteers will also be used and paid required stuff we will also hire as per need of Projects.
5. Objectives
The project is an ethnic community-based financial Freedom (God’s Money & Me) and Ethnic community culture (God’s Plan to Connect the Dots) promotion project aiming to improving the financial and Ethnic community culture of the ethnic minority’s populations in New Zealand with the following objectives:
- From the perspective of financial Freedom (God’s Money & Me) and ethnic community culture (God’s Plan to Connect the Dots) “God’s Money & Me” promotion, to conduct a financial and ethnic community culture needs assessment are completed by team. It is hoped that through this study projects, the specific needs of Pakistani Christians and other ethnic minority groups can be identified.
- To build up a network and strengthen the relationships with various stakeholders who are concerned about the project’s ethnic minority groups.
- To improve the access of minority groups to projects information through developing an effective ethnic specific mechanism for disseminating financial Freedom (God’s Money & Me) and Ethnic community culture (God’s Plan to Connect the Dots) advice.

What is Christian counselling and how can it support me?
Christian counselling is distinct from secular counselling. According to the word of God and Christian belief, Biblical counselling “we seeks to carefully discover those areas in which a people “Christian” may be disobedient to the principles and commands of Scripture and to help him learn how to lovingly submit to God’s will.” As a Christian counsellor, therefore, approach psychology through the lens of the Bible. we see the Bible as the source of all truth.
We support ethnic communities towards wholeness and helping ethnic communities to discover a new and more satisfying process of personal growth and development. In counselling we help ethnic communities explore their difficulties and concerns and develop more satisfying and resourceful ways of living. This includes:

We offer safe and professional counselling services and Christian counselling services on a variety of issues, including:
Sexual Abuse counselling, Anger management, Anxiety, Phobias, Addictions, Family relationship issues, Child and adolescent issues, Depression, Domestic violence, Abuse sexual, physical, spiritual, Trauma, Relationships, Grief, Mediation, Pre-marriage and marriage, Parenting, Self-esteem, Spirituality and Faith transitions, Stress and burnout prevention and recovery.
Free sexual abuse counselling
Sexual abuse Christian counselling at Rise and Shine Worship Ministries – New Zealand & Charitable Trust. We can offer services in Henderson, Auckland, and Online Worldwide for children, adolescents, and adults.
Locations
We offer counselling in 97A Rathgar Road, Henderson, Auckland, run Educational Workshop online and face to face, and Online Worldwide.
6. Projects Needs Assessment
Since relatively information is available on the financial Freedom (God’s Money & Me) and Ethnic community culture (God’s Plan to Connect the Dots) Project needs of ethnic minority populations, a survey and focus group will be conducted to identify and prioritise the needs related to financial Freedom (God’s Money & Me) and Ethnic community culture (God’s Plan to Connect the Dots) promotion among the ethnic minority populations. Details of our findings are attached in appendix. It would be conducted in the form of an ethnic community-based participatory research in which as the relevant ethnic organizations we play an active role in the design and conduct of the research and our findings.

7. Implementation of Projects
8. Helping the Non-English-Speaking elderly and elderly people.
Various organizations of the ethnic community will be visited to build up a network and explore opportunities for future collaboration. Representatives from ethnic community groups will also be invited to participate in the focus group study to collect their views, suggestions, and feedback.
- Make regular visits to their homes in order to assess their spiritual and cultural wellbeing.
- Assist them with the grant application process if not registered yet.
- Organise some sort of security where their safety might be compromised.
- Organise Social Workers visits where necessary.
- Help with transfers of neglected elders to old age homes.
- Give necessary care to those disabled who stay alone without any help and those who struggle to access medical treatment.
9. Attend to the destitute within the communities.
Based on the findings of the financial Freedom (God’s Money & Me) and Ethnic community culture (God’s Plan to Connect the Dots) needs assessment study and opinions collected from various stakeholders, an ethnic-specific communication and information dissemination network will be developed to improve ethnic groups’ access to financial Freedom (God’s Money & Me) and Ethnic community culture (God’s Plan to Connect the Dots) promoting interventions.
- Identify all those who fit the criteria and create a database.
- Distribute the food packages that are basic in nature.
- Make a provision of a temporary shelter where and when necessary.
- Devise means to change their predicament or direct them to the place of help.
- Attend to the needs of communities during the period of disaster.
- Ensure that they are warm and cared for during bad weather conditions and cold season by providing blankets and warm clothes.
- Provide a shelter for all those children who can no longer be accommodated at their current orphanage home, just because they have reached the age of 16 which is the limit for those particular homes. There is an orphanage home with such condition here in our area (which we cannot mention by name) and that leave many kids vulnerable to crime at a crucial time when they are about to complete their high school studies.

The survey and focus group our findings will be conducted in August 2020 findings released in January 2021.
11. Promoting chronic diseases, Coronavirus Awareness
- To provide education to volunteers and the ethnic community on matters relating to Coronavirus.
- To take better care of terminally ill communities.
- To promote, encourage, educate, and advocate Primary Health Care within the ethnic community.
- To provide continuous counselling.
- To promote our program that is called ‘Coming Alongside to Restore and Empower – Financial Freedom | God’s Money & Me’ with an intention of eliminating stigmatization of people living with financial stress & Cultural disconnection stress.
12. Promotion of Sports in the communities
Shortage of sporting activities available to our communities, lead our children to crime and an early pregnancy. As a result, we believe that development of sports facilities and promotion of sport will keep the ethnic community busy and fitness attained thereof, will be beneficial to their health.
- We want to introduce various sporting codes within the communities.
- Run campaigns which will encourage every single child and the majority of adult ethnic community members to take part in sports.
- Organise current and former professional athletes to visit our communities for the purpose of either facilitating coaching clinics or being motivated sessions.
- Organise tournaments that will create interest in the communities.
- Avail equipment sponsorship where necessary.
13. Risk Management
Support from members of relevant organisations is sought in providing comments on the project, participating in the proposed focus group study, and assisting in publicising the survey.

14. Stakeholders
From the perspective of financial freedom (God’s Money & Me) and ethnic community culture (God’s Plan to Connect the Dots) promotion, the aim of the findings is to identify financial and Ethnic community culture wellbeing needs among ethnic minority populations in New Zealand and collect information for planning and developing future financial goals, Ethnic community culture and wellbeing promotion strategies targeting ethnic minority groups.

15. Project Communication Strategy
Evaluation
A combination of qualitative (Focus Group study) and quantitative (survey) research methods will be used.
The survey aims to collect data on dietary, socially, and habitual and living lifestyle pattern, levels of activities for Financial Freedom Project, smoking habit, hygiene practices and preferred languages and means of acquiring financial Freedom (God’s Money & Me) and Ethnic community culture (God’s Plan to Connect the Dots) information. Face-to-face interview will be conducted with the use of a semi-structured questionnaire. Sample size of 2,500 is estimated while sampling frame and recruitment method will be developed in consultation with relevant ethnic community stakeholders. A pilot study will be carried out before the fieldwork to fine-tune the design of the questionnaire.

Focus Group Study
This study aims to collect opinions and views from the leaders and members of the ethnic communities regarding the financial Freedom (God’s Money & Me) and Ethnic community culture (God’s Plan to Connect the Dots) needs of ethnic minority groups. They will be invited to join the focus groups of which one will be for domestic helpers while the other is for the minority Christians residing in New Zealand.

Advocacy and support when dealing with government agencies (Oranga Tamariki, WINZ, Kainga Ora)
Target population
Target population are non-English speaking communities and Pakistani Christians Urdu speaking residents of New Zealand.
Data analysis
Data analysis will be conducted specific to each ethnic group and be compared to the findings of Survey conducted for the general public as follow:
- The project impact will be assessed through engagements with the communities in general.
- Positive feedback from the directly affected ethnic community members.
- Through the popularity of the organisation.
- The awareness brought by the projects amongst the communities.

17. Budget
The nature of our projects dictates that they should continuous rather than a once-off event. Therefore, it is impossible to determine the total value of the projects, but we can say is that these projects are massive and as a result they need a big amount funds. Our spending on these anticipated funding shall happen in two folds. That is Operational Expenditure and Projects Implementation Expenditure.
18. Operational Expenditure
This expenditure shall account for not more than one third of the budget and it shall cover the following;
- Payment of office rental and services.
- Payments of employees’ stipends.
- Official travelling costs.
- Office equipment’s.
- Office stationery and communication systems.
- Payment of independent services like auditors, technical service providers, etc.
19. Project Implementation Expenditure
This expenditure shall account for two thirds of the budget and it shall be used to finance the implementation of the following projects;
- Helping the Non-Speaking English elderly people.
- Paying attention to the destitute within our communities.
- Promoting chronic diseases, Coronavirus Awareness.
- Providing support to needy non-Christians communities.
- Promote sports in the communities.
- Creation of a healthy environment.
